General contract conditions for package tours

The price

The price of trips contracted on the RtW website is established based on the services and dates selected by the user, and will depend on the number of people included in the reservation.

It is the user’s responsibility to review the “price includes” and “price does not include” sections of the offer, before completing the purchase process. These sections detail exactly all the services included in the reservation.

Tourist tax: in certain countries, hotel establishments may require payment of a fee / tax to be paid in the establishment itself and users will be informed. Consult in each case according to the destination.

The agency can only revise the price, upwards or downwards, provided that this revision takes place before 20 days prior to departure and that it is not significant, i.e. more than 15% of the price of the trip. In addition, this revision can only be carried out to adjust the amount of the price of the trip to the variations:

  1. Of the exchange rates applied to the organized trip.
  2. Of the price of the transport included in the trip, including the cost of fuel.
  3. Of the taxes and charges relating to certain services, such as airport, embarkation, disembarkation and similar taxes included in the price.

If the revision of the price means an increase of more than 15% of the price of the trip, the agency will immediately inform the consumer, who will be able to terminate the contract.

The consumer must communicate the decision taken to the agency within three days after notification of the change. If the consumer does not communicate its decision within the period indicated, it will be understood that he chooses to terminate the contract.

Requests for cancellation and modification by the User

In the event that the User wishes to request the cancellation of his/her reservation, he/she must send an email to the following address: hello@runtheworld.co

If there are specific cancellation conditions for a particular trip, they will be indicated in the “conditions” section of the offer. If there are no specific conditions, the cancellation charges set out below will apply.

In the event that the user requests the cancellation of his/her reservation, he/she will be entitled to a refund of the amounts established in the cancellation conditions, but must compensate RtW for the concepts indicated below:

  1. 10% of the amount of the reservation as management costs for the cancellation *, unless the cancellation is due to force majeure.
  2. The amount of the cancellation charges applied to RtW by the suppliers.
  3. A penalty, consisting of 5% of the total cost of the trip if the cancellation occurs more than ten working days and less than fifteen days before the start of the trip; 15% between days 3 and 10, and 25% within the previous 48 hours.

Cancellation and modification of the trip by the organizer

3.1. Modification of the journey by the organiser

  1. Before departure, RtW may make any changes that are necessary for the successful completion of the package and that are not significant. Necessary changes are considered significant if they prevent the completion of the purposes of the trip according to their general or special characteristics.
  2. In the event that RtW is obliged to make significant changes it will immediately inform the User. The User may choose to accept the modification of the contract in which the changes introduced and their repercussion on the price are specified, or to terminate the contract. The consumer must communicate the decision taken to the agency within three days after being notified of the modification. If the consumer does not communicate his decision within the period indicated, it will be understood that he chooses to terminate the contract.

3.2. Cancellation of the trip by the organizer

  1. The cancellation of the trip, for any reason not attributable to the consumer, gives you the right to terminate the contract with the rights provided in these General Terms of Use.
  2. If the cancellation of the trip is communicated within the two months prior to departure, RtW must pay the consumer compensation according to the time remaining for the departure, which will be:
    1. 5% of the price of the trip if it occurs more than 15 days and less than 2 months before departure.
    2. 10% of the price of the trip, if it is produced between 15 and 3 days in advance.
    3. 25% of the price of the trip, if it takes place within 48 hours before departure.

There is no obligation to pay compensation in the following cases:

  1. When the cancellation is due to the number of people registered is less than the number of people that allows to organize the combined trip. In this case, RtW will communicate the cancellation to the consumer at least 10 days before the date scheduled for the start of the trip.
  2. When the cancellation of the trip is due to force majeure Force majeure are circumstances outside RtW, abnormal and unpredictable whose consequences could not have been avoided, despite having acted with due diligence.

Failure to appear at departure

There will be a lack of presentation at departure if the consumer does not communicate his willingness not to make the trip and does not show up at the time and place planned for the departure.

In this case, you lose the right to a refund of the amounts delivered and remains obliged to pay those that were pending payment.

If the lack of presentation takes place due to force majeure, the consumer will be entitled to a refund of the amounts delivered, except for the management costs and the costs of cancellation of the reservation generated until that time.

For this purpose, and not limited to, be considered force majeure death, accident or serious illness of the consumer or any person with whom he lives or any similar event that prevents you from participating in the trip and communicate to the agency that impossibility before departure.

Voluntary changes and early returns

In the event that the customer, once the trip has begun, voluntarily requests any modification of the contracted services (e.g. night stay, hotel changes, etc…) the prices of the tourist services may not correspond to those published in the offer that gave rise to the contract. To carry out this type of management, will involve a minimum expenditure of 50 euros depending on the type of offer. Consult in each case.

Passports and visas

It is the user’s responsibility to check that the personal and family documents of all passengers (including minors) are in order and comply with the period of validity. In the case of the passport, visa or national identity card, the user must verify the requirements demanded by the regulations of the country to be visited. It will be at your own expense to obtain the passport or any other required requirement. Citizens of a nationality other than Spanish must consult the consular representations or competent bodies about the entry requirements for each country.

In the event that the documentation is rejected by any authority or entry to the country is denied because the requirements are not met or because the person does not possess the documentation, RtW will not be responsible for any additional expenses or refund the price of the trip. Minors under 18 years of age must carry a written permission signed by their parents or guardians, in anticipation that it may be requested by any authority.

Cession of the reservation

The user may transfer his or her reservation to a person who meets all the conditions required in the brochure and the contract for the package.

The transfer must be communicated by any means to the agency and will be free if the agency receives the communication at least fifteen days before the start of the trip. If the user communicates it later and the agency can accept it, it can demand from the user some management expenses that will not exceed 10% of the price of the trip.

In any case, the user and the person to whom he has transferred the reservation are jointly responsible before the agency for the payment of the rest of the price, as well as the additional justified expenses that the transfer could have caused.
